Happy Birthdays!

Well, it's finally here....Jack's 5th birthday and Henry's FIRST birthday!

November is a busy birthday month for us. It's hard to find the time to sit down and let you all know what's been going on in our lives. Of course, if you follow me on Facebook, you are pretty much all caught up! We've visited the pumpkin patch, trick-or-treated (with Howie - Allen and Mo's dog), had birthday parties, and a trip to the zoo since I last posted.

Jack has been busy with school, playing with his friend, Isaiah, and learning how to obey Mommy and Daddy! We have been challenged with this age/stage in life and we are trying to figure out the best ways to get our independent 5 year old to listen! I know what most of you will say... It doesn't get any better when they are 10, 14, or even 17!! :)
Jack is learning how to read and is doing very well! He is able to read most 3 letter words and is working on those sight words you just have to memorize. He loves listening to music and singing along. Right now he is into the Phineas and Ferb soundtrack and the Polar Express soundtrack. He loves to play Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii. He's going to be a gamer, just like Daddy!

Henry is growing like a weed! At his 1 year doctor's appointment he was 22 lbs. and was 27 1/2" long. He's not as big as Jack was at this age, but that's ok! He is crawling all over the place and loves to cruise around the furniture and walls. Grandma Glunt says he looks like a little spider crawling along the wall, because he moves so fast! He is saying a few words: Mama, Dada, Ja, nigh-night, no-no, all-done, and hi. Henry's ears have been clear ever since we had tubes put in. He had a cold last week and my first thoughts were, "oh no, another ear infection." But when we were at his well-visit, the doctor said his ears were perfect! So glad we made that decision.

Jack just got back from his first overnight stay with his cousin, Parks! They had so much fun. He stayed at Parks' house one night and then both the boys stayed with Mimi and Papaw Ortman the 2nd night. He keeps talking about how much fun he had and, 'when can I go back and stay'?

We hope you and your families have a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving!
Enjoy the pictures (there are lots!)!
